The lost city of the Incas- this is referred to the city of Machu Picchu belonging to the Inca civilization. This city was constructed around 1430 AD and is located above sea level of 8000 feet. It is believed that, Incas hid their treasure in the Mt. Machu Picchu and later abandoned the city, when the Spanish conquistadors invaded. It is also believed that the Incas abandoned city due to a viral endemic, small pox. Machu Picchu is the most dreaming visits of many tourists and Pablo Neruda of Spain has written an epic poem “heights of Machu Picchu” which is his greatest work.
